Board and Train is what we refer to as training programs where you board your dog with a private trainer for daily training lessons and daily enrichment. Our board and train programs are tailored to the specific needs of the individual dogs and families and also include private lessons with the owners to transfer the training at home. Our School stands out because we provide a unique experience.
Board and Train is not only recommended as a useful method of training for problem behaviors, but also a preventative of unwanted behaviors and jumpstart to your puppies obedience training. There are a variety of training services that can be provided through boarding with training and you don't have to wait until you have training struggles at home. The 24/7 care and structured routine we provide will fast track your puppies training whether you are away at work or on a family vacation. Take a look at the different programs we offer for board and train!
Potty Training
Our potty training program teaches puppies to go potty outside, ring a dog sensor doorbell (12+ week old puppies), crate training, socialization and desensitization to the outdoors. This program can start as early as 8 weeks and for socialization purposes, we encourage you to begin socializing before 16 weeks. Puppies are easily distracted; our goal is that after a 2 week program, they are comfortable going potty outside, sleeping in their crate and have a basic foundation of obedience. We train the basic foundation of commands: their name, come, sit, down, and introduce them to walking on leash.
Basic Obedience
Basic commands are the dogs name, come, sit, down, place, stay, wait, and loose leash walk. These commands are the basic foundation to any training plan whether its for a pet companion, behavior modification program or service dog training. All training begins here with positive reinforcement method training methods.
Advanced Obedience
Advanced commands are all the basic commands trained with more difficulty; longer durations, distance and distractions. The pre-requisite of a Advanced Obedience training program would be that the dog has a reliable foundation for basic commands that can be built into more reliable training outdoors.
Further advanced training commands can include: heel, drop it, leave it, get it, bring it, look, settle, place from a distance, and trick training.
Service Dog Training and Certificate
A Service Dog defined by the ADA is "any dog that is individually trained to do work or perform tasks for an individual with a disability." Our Service Dog training program is 1 to 2 years long depending on the training tasks required. This program ensures that the dogs are well behaved in public places and can perform a task to mitigate their handlers disability.
This program is for dogs that will work to perform special tasks for their handlers and is not the same as a Therapy dog or an Emotional Support Animal.
Behavior Modification
Jumping, Door-dashing, Leash pulling, Car Anxiety, Leash Reactivity, Biting, Resource Guarding, Grooming Desensitization, Rehabilitation, Fearful Dogs, Aggression, Barking, and More. Some dogs struggle a bit more in their training due to breed and temperament or certain rescue cases. Sometimes a board and train is a great start to rehabilitation, socialization or even housebreaking the older dog. You can schedule and in-person consultation with us through online Booking to find out if board and train is the right option for your dog.
There are different lengths of time recommended to achieve certain training goals, however, any amount of time in a board in train will bring something fruitful to your dog and your family. You can view prices here.
