Canine University offers learning experiences for everyone, including the kids!
Our private lessons and board and train packages are specially designed to meet your dog's and your family's needs.
From the privacy and comfort of your home, private lessons enable you to teach and raise your puppy. Consistency and commitment on the part of your family will result in the success of your dog's training.

Our in-home Board and Train program is perfect for teaching your dog obedience commands, discouraging undesirable behaviors, and helping fearful dogs socialize. We guarantee success by creating an effective mode of communication between dogs and their handlers. Puppies under six months old begin with foundational positive reinforcement training and the basics of play and rewards. Our most popular training program is our Ph.D. package.

For dogs older than one year of age, with no previous training or learned unwanted behaviors, it is recommended that they be signed up for our 4-6 week Board and Train program to guarantee the most desired results.

Dogs will be boarded and trained at Canine University premises located in Sunrise, Fl.

Board and Train

Board and Train is what we refer to as training programs where you board your dog with a private trainer for daily training lessons and daily enrichment. Our board and train programs are tailored to the specific needs of the individual dogs and families and also include private lessons with the owners to transfer the training at home. Our School stands out because we provide a unique experience for your pet with daily updates and training videos, and provide continued support once they graduate!

The 24/7 care and structured routine we provide will fast track your puppies training whether you are away at work or on a family vacation. Take a look at the different programs we offer for board and train!

Behavior Modification

What is Behavior Modification? Behavior modification is an approach by which a dog's unwanted or undesirable behaviors become replaced by behaviors that are more desirable and manageable. Canine University offers private sessions with Behavior Management Plans and Board and Train on a case-by-case basis.

As your personal coach, personalized behavior training plans are created to help guide you through your training process. Training plans include: leash reactivity, fear, aggressive behaviors, barking, digging, property destruction such as chewing, housebreaking, seperation anxiety, door-dashing and more.

Board and Train is what we call the program at our School of Excellence, where we Domesticate and Sophisticate. Our school for dogs is a home away from home where your dogs and puppies learn to socialize, crate train, house break, learn Obedience commands, and more!

What does the Board and Train cover?

The packages are tailored to your needs; however, we follow a training format for training dogs.

2 week training
Basic obedience 2 weeks:
Name, Come, Sit, Down, Place, Stay, Loose Leash walk, Socialization.

Advanced obedience after basics 2 weeks:
Name, Come, Sit-Stay, Down-Stay, Place, Loose Leash walk, Socialization (with distractions).

More commands:
Leave it, Paw or High Five, Speak, Heel, Service Dog Task Training.

Additional Training/ Behavior Modification For:
Jumping, leash Pulling, Fear/aggression, digging, Biting, car anxiety.

How much time do you recommend?

The recommended time is based on the dog's age, temperament and the training your dog needs. Below are the lengths of time available for the different services and programs we offer.

Can I visit your home before I book training?

Yes, you can schedule a 15-minute free meet-and-greet or a 30-minute consult ($30) that can be booked online.

What is required to reserve a spot?

Once you pick a start date.

A $100 deposit is required to book.
Deposits can be made via Zelle or credit card
Proof of up-to-date vaccines and fecal exam
Training Agreement

Do you take aggressive dogs?

Yes, and for safety during socialization, muzzles are used.

Puppies that are new to socializing will not socialize with an aggressive dog.

Will my puppy be housebroken?

Most likely not after a 2 week training.

Can I see videos of my dogs training?

Yes, we open a group chat with the owners and our team on WhatsApp. You will receive daily training videos and detailed updates on your dog's training and health while they are in school.

Where does the services take place?

In our home in Sunrise, FL.

How many dogs do you take at a time?

3-6 dogs for training: We have a ratio of 1 trainer to 3 dogs.

How many trainers do you have?

2 Trainers and 2 Kennel Attendants.

Where do the dogs sleep, and are they crated?

Yes, for safety and training all dogs sleep and eat in crates. We do not use playpens here while in training, although you may do that at home.

What vaccines are required?

Your dog must be up-to-date with vaccines per its age.
Puppies can still socialize and board with other dogs that are healthy and vaccinated.
A recent fecal exam is required - no older than 2 months.
If your dog was recently diagnosed with an intestinal parasite or bacteria, an NPS Fecal exam is required after treatment.
Some vaccines are optional; we require Bordetella and DHPP vaccines to protect your dog in a boarding environment.
RABIES Vaccine is required by law.

Can I visit my dog at school?

Yes, we allow scheduled visits.

What do I need to bring for my dog?

Their food supply
Martingale collar with a name tag
Optional: Blanket for crate, treats, bones to chew, a toy, slow feeder dog bowl

Do you come to our home to teach us after my dog finishes their board and train?

Yes, the board and train include lessons that are very important for your dog's success after schooling.
